Last Thursday, a certain number of CTS/CTS-V owners were invited out to Toronto Motorsports Park for a fun filled day at the track with their vehicles. Professional instructors were on hand to show the owners what their Cadillacs could do.
As a surprise, the first 2011 CTS-V Coupe in Canada also showed up. I was lucky enough to take it for a short drive.
Since this was the only one in the country at the time, and it was not my car, I was extra careful piloting the beast down the back country roads. Power delivery was very refined and smooth. The 556hp really moves the car, almost in an eerie way since the power delivery is so refined. It’s not savage like you would expect. The 6 speed manual was very smooth and easy to drive, and the Recaro seats held me in place going around some gentle curves with the magnetic suspension set to ‘sport’ mode.
As I entered town, all eyes were on me. The CTS-V coupe is one of those vehicles that looks much better in person than in pictures, and the town of Cayuga seemed to agree.
Hopefully I will get the chance to do a full review…
